With the plethora of lateopening cafes and bars, youH never have to choose between going to a club and going to bed. If you do get a craving for a danceflour fling, however, you'll find the discos much like those in any major city and always more preoccupied with providing entertainment than defining the cutting edge of fashion. You'll be dancing alone if you turn up much before midnight, although after that time, especially on Fridays and Saturdays, they fill rapidly and stay open until Sam. There are dress codes but these are fairly easygoing anything casual and clean will usually suffice. Another plus is that drink prices are seldom hiked up and admission is fairly cheap at 2545kr. Spitandsawdusttype place and immensely popular with a youthful crowd. Come early if you want to sit down. Sabines Cafeteria, TelegSrd 10. Where the young and goodlooking begin their evening's drinking. Caf6 Sommersko, Kronprinsensgade 6. Sizeable, but crowded most nights, with free livt music on Sunday afternoons to soothe away hangovers. Universitetscafeen, Fiolstraede 2. A prime central location and long hours (open untii 5aml make this a good spot to hit, early or late, for a leisurely beer. Live music Als Bananrepublikken, Norrebrogade 13. One of the best places to hear Worid Music: alf has a good range of ethnic foods, see "Eating". Bar Hue, Radhusstr®de 13 («33112932). The country's premier jazz venue, featuring international big names and Denmark's finest. Can be pricey but students get substantial discounts; closed Sun & Mon. Loppen, in Christiania. On the edge of the "free city" and a sympathetic setting for both established and experimental Danish rock, jazz and performance artists, and quite a few British and American ones too.
