Combinations of these are served with potatoes and another, usually boiled, vegetable. Ordinary restaurant meals can be expensive, especially in the evening, and are often nogo areas for vegetarians but there are other ways to eat Danish food that won't ruin your budget or your diet. Breakfast Breakfast [morgenmadi can be the tastiest and is certamly the healthiest (and most meatfree) Uanish meal. Almost all hotels offer a sumptuous breakfast as a matter of course, and if you're staying in a rural youth hostel you can often attack a nelpyourself table laden with cereals, bread, reese, boiled eggs (sometimes), fruit juice, milk агю tea for around 38kr though city hostels' weawasts tend to be less exciting. Breakfast else will be far less substantial: many cafes offer a very basic one for around 20kr, but you're welladvised to hold out until lunchtime. Lunch and snacks You can track down an excellentvalue lunch {frokostj simply by walking around and reading the signs chalked up outside a cafё, restaurant or bodega (a kind of bar which also sells nofrills food). On these notices, put out between 11.30am and 2.30pm, you'll often see the word tilbud, which refers to the "special" priced dish, or dagens ret, meaning "dish of the day" a plate of chilli con carne or lasagne for around 45kr, or a ti«ocourse set lunch for about 60kr. Some restaurants carry a fixed price (7590kr) threecourse lunch in which you pick from a selection of dishes.
